The purpose of The Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City is to promote the equality of women and others in society in general and in the legal profession in particular.

AWL is grateful to Past Presidents who have given their time and talents to ensure the success of this association.

2012 AWL President Phyllis Norman's Message

First, I want to say congratulations to our new 2012 Board.  They are amazing.  We have several new board members (check them out below).   When I first looked at my slate the word that came to my mind was “perfect”.  Every person on this board cherishes this organization and have a strong commitment to their membership.  They all are a perfect fit for their positions.  I can’t wait to work with them to have the best year ever!! 

Second, I have never felt so lucky and honored to lead the Association of Women Lawyers.  This organization has given me so much and opened doors I never knew existed.  I also have met friends and mentors that will be with me in my personal and professional life forever.  As such, my goal this year is to make sure our membership is aware of all the amazing benefits this organization can have on an attorney and try to make each member at least have a glimpse of what I have experienced to date.  To do so, I want to first recommend that any member of this organization come to me or any member of our board with ideas, comments or volunteer opportunities.  The current board is made up of determined, caring and successful women who would help any member on the spot.  More
