Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City
AWL was formed in 1976 to advance the role of women in the legal profession. Since then its membership has grown to close to 400 lawyers and judges. AWL provides opportunities for networking and a forum for the exchange of ideas. Its ongoing and annual activities allow the organization to contribute to the Kansas City community.
AWL is grateful to Past Presidents who have given their time and talents to ensure the success of this association.
President's Message

The Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City is a volunteer bar where lawyers work together for the advancement of women in the legal profession and on making our community a better place to work and live in. Our projects for 2010 include the award-winning Step Up for Women in Shelter, CLEs presented by judges and lawyers, and the I Am Not Serious About Golf Golf Tournament. We also have multiple social events paired with sponsoring local organizations, including the judicial receptions, Past Presidents reception, and a joint social with the Student Women Lawyers Association. This year we also have a pilot Pro Bono project being developed in 2010, an AWL Connections Mentoring Program, attorney development events, work on selecting and endorsing judicial candidates, Harvesters food drive, among other exciting projects. This website is a tool to help our members stay updated and get involved. If you are not a member yet, consider joining and volunteering. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me or any of the AWL Board members with comments and new ideas.
We look forward to hearing from you.
